The Make-A-Wish Foundation fulfills wishes for kids with life-threatening medical conditions. You can help them do that by participating in the inaugural Ride for Wishes in October. The event is being organized by the Southern Illinois Volunteers for Make-A-Wish, IL. The 63-mile ride beings at Ted’s Motorcycle World in Alton and takes riders through Jerseyville, Piasa, Shipman, Bunker Hill, Midway, Meadowbrook, Bethalto and Cottage Hills before ending at the Alton-Wood River Sportsmen’s Club in Godfrey.

Event organizer Norma Glazebrook says putting this together has been an interesting experience.

Glazebrook says the ride will be followed by a silent auction at the sportsman’s club and that the items available include jewelry, a trolling motor and overnight stays at different facilities in Grafton.

The Ride for Wishes will take place on Saturday, October 4th. The cost to ride is $25 in advance or $30 per person if you register the day of the ride. Each participant will receive a commemorative patch and a goodie bag. To register or learn more, visit or call Norma at 462-0315.
