A new fundraiser for Make-A-Wish, IL has been deemed a success by event organizers. The inaugural Ride for Wishes was held last Saturday in brisk weather, which may have kept the number of participants down, but those that were there raised over $3,000 for the charity.
The 63-mile ride began at Ted’s Motorcycle World in Alton and ended at the Alton-Wood River Sportsmen’s Club in Godfrey where it was followed by a silent auction. Organizer Norma Glazebrook says it was a good day.

Last year, the Make-A-Wish Foundation granted nearly 700 wishes in Madison, Macoupin and Jersey counties, made possible by funds raised through a number of events in the region.
