The SIU-Edwardsville School of Dental Medicine in Alton has cut the ribbon on a $9.5-million simulation lab project. The facility will serve as a primary site of instruction for approximately 100 predoctoral dental students. It took a little over a year to complete the construction, and the lab will be ready to go when students return to school in January.
SIUE Spokesman Doug McIlhagga says students will be using the new facility soon.

Along with the simulation lab, the 18,000 square foot addition includes a ceramic reconstruction room, x-ray room, casting and dispensing areas, and the replacement of the school’s fitness center.
