The Illinois Fraternal Order of Police has endorsed Roger Cook for Congress. Cook is a Republican, former mayor of Belleville and a former police officer. The group is the largest police union in the state and he accepted the groups endorsement yesterday in Belleville. Cook is running for the seat currently held by longtime Democratic Congressman Jerry Costello.
Cook is among three Republicans and three Democrats running for the seat. The other Republicans include former Lt. Governor Candidate Jason Plummer of Fairview Heights, and political newcomer Theresa Kormos of O'Fallon. Democrats running include Brad Harriman, who has received the party endorsement, and Christopher Miller.
