Local rental property owners, or those interested in getting into the business, are invited to attend a meeting on Saturday. The gathering is sponsored by the Rental Property Owners Association Riverbend and is designed to help the landlord learn the process of running a responsible business, knowing their rights and those of the renter, and getting to know other rental property owners in the area.
The meeting is open to any landlord in the area, covering information like evictions, background checks, credit checks, and how to screen tenants. Association founder and past-president Bev Carter says for those that are new to the business, it's good to be armed with as much information as possible:
