A fairly new reenactment festival returns to Grafton this weekend. The 3rd annual Pere Marquette Rendezvous will be held Saturday and Sunday along the riverside, across from the visitor's center at Pere Marquette State Park. The activities run Saturday from 10am-5pm, and Sunday from 10am-4pm. Reenactors will portray the fur traders and buyers typical of the region prior to 1840.
Event spokesman Monica Brackman tells The Big Z this will be a kid-friendly event.

This event is similar to reenactments at Fort Massac or Prairie Du Rocher, or the defunct Heritage Days that was held at Lewis & Clark Community College for decades before folding a few years ago. The event is free to attend, but she says you may want to bring some spending money for food and souvenirs.
