The Riverbend Growth Association handed out its annual Captain of the Riverbend Awards on Thursday during a luncheon at Lewis and Clark Community College. Three businesses and two local municipalities were honored for public enhancement, community service and economic enhancement of the region.
Honored this year were CNB Bank and Trust, Cope Plastics, Scott Credit Union, the Village of East Alton and the Village of Godfrey. Riverbend Growth Association President Monica Bristow also took time to share some of the good economic news for our area over the past year, specifically the growth in Wood River:

Bristow also highlighted the growth at St. Louis Regional Airport, the coming Alton Multi-modal Transportation Center, expansion in the local healthcare industry, as well as growth in travel and tourism in Grafton.
