The head of the Riverbend Growth Association believes there are good things on the horizon for the area in the New Year. RBGA President Monica Bristow tells the Big Z 2015 should include steady progress in the growth of local businesses and resurgence in the area in and around Alton Square Mall.
Bristow says the addition of Ross at the mall could attract new businesses to the property, and the construction of the Alton Multi-modal center will also bring additional development in the years ahead. She says that is on top of the growth we saw in 2014:

Bristow says ongoing expansion at the Phillips 66 Wood River Refinery will mean not only new work there but also stability at surrounding businesses and industries. She also says commercial and retail growth should continue to follow the completion of Highway 255 in Wood River, Bethalto, Alton and Godfrey.
