Illinois Governor-elect Bruce Rauner is flying around the state the let people know he's ready to get to work. The Republican governor-elect’s first stop will be this morning in Byron. He'll also make stops in Chillicothe, Casey, Grayville, and Benton today.
Rauner will pick up again tomorrow in Maryville, Quincy, Moline, and Moweaqua. Rauner will be sworn in on Monday during a ceremony in Springfield. The festivities will actually kick off on Sunday for Rauner, who will appear in Chicago and Springfield at “Serving Illinois” events. A Veterans Job Fair will be held at the Prairie Capital Convention Center on Sunday, and Sunday night will include the inaugural reception and dinner. Monday will feature an interfaith service, the swearing-in ceremony, and open house at the old state capitol, dinner and the inaugural concert featuring Toby Keith.
