Gov. Pat Quinn is making another trip overseas. This time it’s to Belgium, for a NATO pre-summit kickoff Wednesday and Thursday at NATO headquarters in Brussels. The governor will be promoting the NATO summit in Chicago in May, and promoting Illinois as a place of business for Europeans.

“I’m gonna be speaking to a number of businesses that are in Europe, in the European Union and are in Belgium in particular, that can invest and create jobs here (in Illinois). And we want them to do that,” Quinn said. Quinn will be the first Illinois governor to travel to Europe in 14 years. He has recently made trade-related trips to China, Brazil and Canada. The cost of this trip is being picked up by the host committee of the NATO summit in Chicago.
