Not many details are available yet, but state officials say they still plan to have a new insurance plan for Medicare-eligible retirees in place by Tuesday. The Department of Central Management has spent months working to implement a Medicare Advantage plan for Medicare coverage eligible retirees. In an email, a CMS official told SJ-R.com the department is in the process of procurement with a goal of having a contract in place by Tuesday.
They say that will an enrollment period to make selections which will take effect at the start of the new year. The official says it's not known people will be offered more than one option for their Medicare coverage and it's also not know when they'll have to make their selections.
