Madison County prosecutors have settled a DUI case with an East Alton woman. 40 year old Aimee Ramsey of the first block of Fourth Street has pleaded guilty to aggravated driving under the influence in exchange for two years of probation. Her 2009 arrest originally resulted in a felony charge due to a past DUI conviction from 1998.
Ramsey was arrested by East Alton Police following a traffic stop in June 2009. At the time police were responding to a domestic disturbance report from a residence where she was seen leaving from and during the traffic stop police reported a smell of alcohol coming from her breath, glassy eyes, and she was unsteady on her feet. She refused a field sobriety test at the time. Madison County Circuit Judge Kyle Napp approved the deal with prosecutors but ordered Ramsey to continue alcohol abuse treatment.
