It's the most wonderful, but sometimes the most challenging time of the year for people who are watching their diet.  From Thanksgiving through the New Years, there will be endless opportunities to feast and snack, and the challenge will be to watch what you eat.  Sara Lopinski, with the SIU School of Medicine, says portion control is a good way to help prevent overeating.

She also says getting plenty of exercise and enjoying social activities may help.  People who have dietary concerns should see their primary care physician or a registered dietitian who can guide them through the end of the year.
