Telling the story of Abraham Lincoln will never be finished. But Iron Mountain, a worldwide storage and information management company, is helping. In a cash / in-kind donation described by a company official as “in the form of six figures,” the company is helping the Papers of Abraham Lincoln as it collects and digitally stores Lincoln documents. The project is at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library in Springfield.

“This is who we are. This is what we do,” said Iron Mountain senior vice president Ty Ondatje. “It aligns so well with our competencies that it was just a natural partnership to form.”
“Often we have only one opportunity to scan these unique and important historic documents,” says Papers director Daniel Stowell, noting one physical piece, since his team saved it, was cut into individual sentences and sold piecemeal.
