Power is nearly restored for customers of Ameren and Southwestern Electric Cooperative after high winds and heavy wet snow blanketed the area on Wednesday. Less than 100 customers of both companies are still without service in the Riverbend area this morning.
At the peak of the outage, more than 120-thousand Ameren customers were without service and more than 7-thousand customers of Southwestern Electric lost power. John Barud, Senior Director of Division Operations for Ameren Illinois, says they have a priority list of who gets their power restored first:

Ameren brought in assistance from Wisconsin, Kansas, Michigan and Indiana to help restore service on Wednesday.
