A former worker at a Metro-east Post Office is being accused of opening and stealing packages.  Forty-one year-old Jane Emily of St. Louis was arraigned in U.S. District Court in East St. Louis on Tuesday for various charges of opening mail and theft.  She was serving as the supervisor of the East St. Louis Post Office when the alleged thefts occurred in March and April.  

Each charge carries a maximum five-year sentence and a 250-thousand dollar fine, along with three years supervised release.  The case was investigated by the U.S. Postal Service, Office of the Inspector General.
