Additions to the restrictions on when you can burn leaves in Godfrey may be forthcoming. Burning is allowed on Wednesdays and Saturdays in Godfrey. The days before some holidays could be excluded if they fall on those days.
Village Trustee Sarah Johnes tells The Big Z they will consider adding the day before Easter and Thanksgiving, as well as the day before Halloween and Christmas when they fall on burning days will be considered for addition to the ordinance.

Areas zoned for agriculture are exempt from the burning ordinance, per state statute. A discussion of the possibility is planned for the Public Safety Committee on Monday at 6pm at Godfrey Village Hall.
