Alton Police remain on the lookout for two suspected drug dealers who have been on the run for about a week. A number of guns and a large amount of drugs have been taken off the streets in recent weeks, but 29-year-old Antwon O. Jackson and 29-year-old Keith A. Smith avoided capture late last month that saw seven other Alton men arrested for their alleged involvement in the local drug trade.
Alton Police Lieutenant Scott Golike says taking the community policing model from concept to reality in Alton is paying off.
Smith is charged with Unlawful Delivery of Cannabis, and police allegedly seized $67,000 when searching for him at a house on Burling Drive behind the former College Crest Motel. Jackson is charged with Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance within 1000 feet of a Church, 2 counts of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance, and a single count of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. If you know of either's location, call 463-3505, or the anonymous tip line at 465-5948.
