Checking local police reports provided this morning to Z-1570, Alton Police arrested 31 year old Tommy Williams of the 800 block of Hampton in Alton for predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, following an incident involving a four year old acquaintance of the family over the weekend. Williams was charged on Tuesday and is in custody.
Alton Police also arrested a woman who allegedly stabbed her boyfriend on Tuesday afternoon. The victim and the suspect apparently began arguing after having lunch at the man's home in the 200 block of Longfellow, and the woman grabbed a knife and stabbed the man in the arm. Police report he ran from the home and a neighbor called 911. He was taken to Alton Memorial Hospital and later airlifted to a St. Louis hospital for surgery. The woman was taken into custody and formal charges could be filed today.
The Madison County Sheriff's Department arrested 30 year old Daniel Baglin of the 400 block of South Main in Troy for unlawful presence within a school zone by a sex offender. Baglin was taken into custody at Triad High School after accompanying a family member who was working for a food service provider for the school. Baglin was arrested when he was checking in with school security and police do not believe he attempted to contact any students.
Illinois State Police report a Bethalto man was injured in a single vehicle accident on Monday near Gillespie. Police say 18 year old Nicholas Cato was seriously injured after he apparently feel asleep while driving and ran off Highway 16 just outside Gillespie Monday morning just before 11:00. He is being treated at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.
