Checking local police reports provided this morning to Z-1570, the Madison County Sheriff's Department cited four minors with underage drinking following a traffic stop early Wednesday in Godfrey. 18 year old Brody Ottwell of the 900 block of Robert Drive in Godfrey, 19 year old Jay Hauck of the 5200 block of Dover Drive in Godfrey, 20 year old Ryan Moore of the 700 block of Enos Lane in Godfrey, and 20 year old Joshua Mosby of the 100 block of Lakeside Drive in Godfrey were reported in a vehicle stopped early Wednesday by a Sheriff's Deputy at Lakeside Drive and North Alby in Godfrey. Hauck, the driver, was cited for illegal transportation of alcohol, and all four were cited with unlawful possession of consumption of alcohol by a minor.
Alton Police, joined by several other police agencies, conducted an unannounced search for drugs and other illegal substances at the Alton Middle School on Wednesday. Police and canine units searched students lockers, but did not find anything illegal. Alton Police also filed charges this week against 55 year old Jeffrey Demond of the 500 block of Vine in Alton for battery and resisting a peace officer after allegedly punching several people in downtown Alton last weekend. 19 year old Jamarco Womack of the 2600 block of Main Street was charged with Offenses Related To Motor Vehicle after allegedly stealing a car outside the One Stop Shop on Milton Road last weekend.
East Alton Police were holding 20 year old Amanda Causey of the 300 block of Whitelaw in East Alton on an outstanding warrant.
