Checking local police reports provided this morning to Z-1570, the Illinois State Police report a significant heroin bust late last week.   Officers pulled over a vehicle on Interstate 55 at mile marker 7 in Madison County last Friday morning and after questioning the driver, discovered more than 5.5 kilos of heroin hidden inside a compartment in the vehicle.  Charged is 46 year old Rodolfo Hernandez-Flores, a Mexican national, who reportedly was paid to make the delivery from Mexico to Columbus, Ohio.   He is being held in the Madison County Jail charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin. 

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department arrested 33 year old Dustin Lee Vanhoose of the 1900 block of West County Road in Jerseyville for retail theft over $300 from the Godfrey Wal-Mart.
