Checking overnight police activity, The Madison County Sheriff's department has charged 21-year-old Joseph E. Schwank (pictured, top) and 18-year-old Angela M. Mattingly (pictured, bottom), both of the 1,200 block of W. 9th Street in Alton, with retail theft over $300 and misdemeanor resisting a peace officer after Schwank allegedly walked out of the Godfrey Wal-Mart with a 32" LED television without paying for it. Mattingly was the alleged getaway driver. Mattingly is in custody, while Schwank is still on the run.
Alton Police were holding 26-year-old James C. Mike of the 7,000 block of Washington Avenue for unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon; 27-year-old Michael A. Lumpkins of the 1,000 block of Tremont for unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and a parole violation; 26-year-old Johnathan L. Brown of the 900 block of Oakwood Avenue for criminal tresspass to state supported property; 35-year-old James T. Caldwell of the 9,800 block of Arvada, CO for intoxicated pedestrian; 24-year-old Wilfred L. Wigfall of the 3,600 block of Minnesota Avenue in St. Louis and 47-year-old Robert D. Barnes of the 5,400 block of Maryville Rd. in Granite city, both on warrants.
East Alton Police were holding 2 people on warrants: 35-year-old Jennifer E. Banks of the 200 block of Victory, and 23-year-old Zacharians A. Tharp of the 200 block of Virginian Avenue.
There was no one new being held by Wood River police during our morning check.
