Former Congressional candidate Jason Plummer (pictured) is being sued for a debt he allegedly owes following his failed bid for Congress last fall. Former consultant Franny Decker calims Plummer and his campaign owes Decker Consulting Services more than $51,000 for work done in the 2012 campaign. The suit alleges Decker and her business were hired to raise funds for that campaign.
According to the Federal Elections Commission, the Plummer campaign has about $4,200 left in the bank. The suit calims that candidates are personally responsible for debts incurred by their campaigns. Plummer was defeated in that race for the 12th Congressional district by Democrat Bill Enyart. The race for the seat was characterized as a wide-open affair after long-time U.S. Representative Jerry Costello announced he would not seek to retain his seat in Washington, D.C.
