An East Alton man has pleaded guilty to Aggravated DUI in the death of a bicyclist he hit on the Great River Road in late May. Kajavion McCarvey will spend the next two years on probation and will be required to perform 1250 hours of community service. McCarvey was driving the truck that ran off the roadway and hit 65-year-old Carol R. Admire.
Jersey County State's Attorney Ben Goetten tells The Big Z he worked closely with Admire's family to get to this point.

Goetten says the community service will involve McCarvey cleaning up the bike path along the Great River Road between Alton and Grafton. Both Admire and McCarvey were traveling south toward Alton when the incident occurred just before 4pm May 23rd between Stanka Lane and Piasa Harbor, just inside the Jersey County line.
