The Alton Plan Commission has two new members. Anne Doucleff and Bill Stoutenborough were not re-appointed, replaced by new members James Rogalsky and Eva Perkins. Originally John Rain was expected to be replaced as well, but Wade Gibson's name was pulled in favor of bringing Rain back.
The appointment of new members was apparently a source of concern for some aldermen, so Alton Mayor Brant Walker tells The Big Z the appointments reflect a compromise.

Gary Doerr was also re-appointed along with Rain. The previous plan commission had recommended negative votes on text amendments several times in recent months, only to have the recommendations overridden by the city council. As a result, a new tattoo shop has opened on Broadway, and a restaurant will be opening soon on State Street.
