United Way's annual Community Christmas donation drive kicks off a week from tomorrow and organizers are reaching out to businesses and other organizations in hopes of finding a few last minute partners. Last year, the United Way collected a little more than 16,000 items according to United Way Marketing and Communications Manager Natasha Sakovich.

Sakovich says becoming a partner is simple and free. All an organization has to do is contact the United Way, wait for the box to be delivered and then place it at the main entrance or another easily accessible area during the duration of the drive.
This year's drive starts next Tuesday, November 4th and runs through Thursday, December 11th. To become a partner, volunteer or learn more about the drive, you can contact the United Way's Southwest Illinois Division at 258-9800,
