As work continues on the expansion of the Bethalto Sports Complex, village leaders are also preparing a list of upgrades for anotherpark in town. The facilities at the Field of Dreams are in need of an overhaul and Village Board members have accepted a bid from Camp Electric & Heating Co. for the replacement of overhead electrical service at the park’s concession stand.
The contract is worth $15,827 and Bethalto Mayor Alan Winslow says it is the first of several projects that will improve the look and performance of the facility.
Winslow is hopeful that the work at the Field of Dreams will wrap up in time for the 2014 sports season.
In other business, board members adopted a resolution establishing a maintenance agreement between the Village and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources for the upkeep and annual inspection of Phase II of the Bethalto Sports Complex. The 5-year agreement will cost the village $40,000.
