It was a wetter than normal October in Illinois. Statewide precipitation was 4.5 inches, which is 1.2 inches above average. State Climatologist Jim Angel says central Illinois saw the most rain in October, with some areas like Medora, Greenfield and Carlinville recording more than nine inches of rain for the month.

These totals make this the 15th wettest October on record in Illinois. Temperatures were up a bit as well, with averages about one degree above normal.
