President Obama will be pushing his plan to boost the country's manufacturing sector this week. On Wednesday, the President will be in Galesburg, Illinois to deliver the first in a series of speeches expected to set the tone for his battles with Congress over the economy this fall. The White House says this speech will address issues he believes are at the core of the financial debate.
Obama advisor Dan Pfeiffer says the President will introduce new economic ideas over the summer but he did not specify what those would be. Galesburg has about 30 thousand residents and it is a place which lost over 900 jobs after Maytag announced back in 2004 it would be shutting down a refrigerator factory.
