The charges are piling up against numerous men following a police operation Wednesday afternoon that started with members of the ILEAS- Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System- executing a search warrant at a residence in the 600 block of East 8th Street and winding up with a chase that ended in West Alton. The search warrant was issued in order to recover evidence of alleged drug activity at the house.
Charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a church, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and failure to register as a sex offender is 35-year-old Demetrius L. Porter (pictured) of the 3500 block of Oscar Avenue. 49-year-old Duane L. Moore of 600 block of East Eighth Street is charged with aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Another man in the car, 51-year-old Noah Jordan of the 2100 block of Salu Street is charged with possession of a controlled substance after police allegedly found a crack pipe in his pocket. Not involved in the chase, but charged in connection with the ILEAS action is 21-year-old Bryon D. Blake of the 2500 block of Salu Street. He is facing unlawful possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of weapons by a felon.
