The price of gasoline is unchanged over the last month. The Illinois statewide average for November is $3.49, the same as October, according to the monthly survey by the Triple-A Chicago Motor Club. Triple-A spokesman Beth Mosher says this is rare.

“We normally see prices come down in November, and they have been coming down month-over-month for the past several months. What we’re seeing here this month is pretty unusual from what we typically see,” she said. Mosher says the price is being held up by economic instability around the world, and higher oil prices. Last year at this time, the Illinois average was $2.98, so we’re 51 cents higher than that.
