Any move to close schools or shuffle students around to other schools in the Southwestern School District will not be coming at next week's school board meeting. Some parents had voiced their concern earlier this week via social media, but Superintendent Brad Skertich says that is not the case.
He says the rumors may have originated as a result of a series of meetings over the summer in which community members discussed various cost savingsmeasures.
Among the suggestions that came out of those meetings were closing at least one school. Tuesday night's Southwestern School District Board Meeting will be held at 7pm at the Middle School in Piasa.
