The Illinois Department of Transportation is keeping a close eye on the river stages as the rains continue to fall, but as of now there are no major highways under water, and all ferries remain in operation. IDOT has a web page dedicated to the notification of road closures, which one agency official advises you check as the rain continues to fall.
IDOT Engineer Joe Monroe says even though much of the rain continues to fall on us, that doesn’t necessarily correlate to rising rivers in the area.

A post is being circulated on social media reporting the closure of some roads in and around Grafton. While that post came from a reliable source, it is a story from last July. Monroe says to be suspicious of anything you see on social media, and at least check the date of the story.
