The disappearance of a Grafton woman on the day after Christmas has investigators still asking for help from the public. Following extensive searches on several occasions, including again over the weekend, authorities still don’t know how or why 42-year-old Heather Bardsley disappeared.
Bardsley was reported missing by a friend about 2pm on December 27. Bardsley was last seen heading toward her home between 10:30-11pm near North Cedar Street in Grafton on December 26. A man and woman who had been with her earlier that evening reportedly dropped her off near the Amoco Station. They told authorities they last saw her walking near a creek.
At the time the creek was rising and there was heavy rain in the area. A dive team searched the waterway with no success, and cadaver dogs were brought in to search the area where Bardsley was last seen…also with no additional clues for police. An aerial search was also conducted over the weekend using a helicopter and a video drone, but police say no new clues were found.
Police did say a possible lead of someone matching Bardsley’s description that was spotted in Shipman turned up empty. Anyone with information on Bardsley’s whereabouts is asked to call Grafton Police at 618-786-3354.
