Nine hundred trees lining the Arch grounds will be going under the ax. Park Service officials say the ash trees along the riverfront park are possible target for an Asian beetle, known as an ash borer, that's making its way to the St. Louis area. They received federal permission Thursday to cut down the trees as a preventative measure.

No word on when they'll be chopped down, or what kind of trees will be planted to replace the ash.
