The new Congress will have a different look, as Republicans will be in charge of both the House and the Senate. Illinois Senators Mark Kirk and Dick Durbin are assigned to the Appropriations Committee. Durbin will also be minority whip, the second ranking position behind the Minority Leader Harry Reid in the 114th Congress.
Republican Senator Roy Blunt from Missouri will return to the Senate Intelligence Committee. He'll also serve on the committees on Appropriations; Commerce, Science and Transportation; and Rules and Administration. Meanwhile, Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill will be the top-ranking Democrat on the Aging Committee.
