C.D. Davidsmeyer has been sworn in as the new state representative for the 97th District, which serves portions of Madison, Macoupin, Jersey, Greene, Calhoun, Morgan and Pike Counties. The Jacksonville Republican says building a better business climate is one of his top priorities.
Davidsmeyer (pictured, right) says he would not support a proposal to extend the tax hike which took effect nearly two years ago. He replaces Jim Watson, who recently retired to take a job with the Illinois Petroleum Council. Davidsmeyer will serve the state's 97th district through January 9th, when he'll be sworn in again as the representative for the state's 100th district.
