Old companies and new ones can learn from each other; at least, those involved in the Illinois Corporate/Start-up Challenge can.  The governor's office unveiled the program Sunday. It's a pilot program run by the Illinois Science and Technology Coalition, whose president, Mark Harris, says, “The goal is to better connect our corporations with emerging and start-up companies. Illinois is blessed with a great group of corporate leaders and good corporate innovators, and we also have this growing and burgeoning entrepeneurial community.”

Harris says the four established companies – Allstate, Molex, Motorola Mobility, and Walgreens – have committed to designating a “chief start-up officer” to participate. The start-up companies have not been named yet.
