If you travel New Poag Road between Illinois Route 3 and Illinois Route 111, you may need to find another route for a few weeks. Portions of that stretch of road will be closed for road construction starting Monday, April 25. This is part of a patching, slope repair, and resurfacing project.

Once the first stage of repairs to New Poag Road are completed, Gvillo tells The Big Z the second stage will begin, resulting in the closure of New Poag Road from Illinois Route 3 to Old Alton Road. He says the phase that starts Monday should take a couple of weeks to complete, and the second phase should last about a week.
