“We’ve known each other a long time,” Quinn said. “He’s very dedicated to helping all of us combat diabetes, and I think it’s important that we work together - Democrat, Republican, independent-on a very important health mission.”  One of the Republican candidates for governor, State Sen. Kirk Dillard (R-Hinsdale), says he’s looking forward to helping Durkin increase the Republican presence in the House.“Together with the House Republicans and my own caucus, we’re going to lead this state and make it work again,” Dillard said.  Durkin is supporting Dillard’s bid for governor. He officially takes over for the outgoing minority leader, State Rep. Tom Cross (R-Oswego), later this month.
