A new 4-H club located in Godfrey was launched in September by an area equestrian athlete. Ariel Weinman says while the club will mainly focus on horses, it will also be doing other activities that are both educational and fun. It is called the Lucky Horse Shoes 4H club.
January 7 at 6pm will be the next meeting, and is held at the Equestrian Center at Beverly Farm. Club sponsor Ariel Weinman says while the horses are her passion, the club members have a variety of interests.
The goal of 4-H is to develop citizenship, leadership, responsibility and life skills of youth through experiential learning programs and a positive youth development approach. Though typically thought of as an agriculturally focused organization as a result of its history, 4-H today focuses on citizenship, healthy living, science, engineering, and technology programs.
