It sounds like the ultimate lock-in – a month living at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. Kevin Byrne of Chicago won a competition to be the museum’s “roommate” in this second year of the program. He is not supposed to just sit and have people look at him. He is to explore the museum and document his findings online.

“I’m doing my best to experience and see and do as much as I possibly can while I’m here,” says Byrne. “I think I have a foundation to help me ask questions.” Byrne holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in marketing. Byrne is in the digital advertising field and says the Month at the Museum fits in with the sort of adventures he prefers, including a cross-country bicycle trip as well as a camping expedition in New Zealand. Byrne will be at the museum until Nov. 17, when he will help open the annual “Christmas around the World” exhibit.
