The third man to be charged in the murder of 23-year-old Tyler Hoppe of Alton last year has been brought back to Alton.  Police say 20-year-old Larry Belk (pictured) of St. Louis fled the area shortly after the shooting while his alleged accomplice was locked up.  Investigators believe 19-year-old Nigel Generally of Berkley, Missouri was also in on the shooting that killed Hoppe.  A third man, 21-year-old Hosie L. Burgess, of the 2,600 block of Sanford Avenue has also been charged.

All three are charged with three counts of first degree murder, although police say Burgess is being held under the accountability statute.  Police don't think he was at the scene, but do believe he provided the gun and ammunition.  Alton Police Chief David Hayes says Belk was picked up last Thursday.

Hayes comments

A $5,000 reward was offered in the weeks following the shooting, but that was not enough incentive to bring anyone forward, according to Hayes.
