The St. Louis Metropolitan Major Case Squad is seeking the public's help as they continue a homicide investigation following the discovery of a body in Bethalto on Saturday morning. According to a press release, Bethalto Police responded a caller reporting the discovery of a body along the southbound lanes Illinois Route 255, approximately one mile north of Illinois Route 140 at 9 a.m. Saturday morning. Police located the body of a female, later identified as 44-year old Tabitha L. Milton-Rush of St. Louis, Mo., laying down an embankment off of the highway.
Investigators are calling the death suspicious and believe that foul play may have been involved according to a press release from Major Case Squad Deputy Director Brad Wells. It also appears that the victim died at another location before her body was placed at the location it was found. The Major Case Squad is investigating the death as a homicide and has set up a command post at the Bethalto Police Department.
