Illinois municipalities could find a big stocking stuffer just before the holidays - money owed by the state. Senate Bill 2039 was passed Monday, and includes more than $220 million for municipal coffers and also money from video gaming and casino receipts which local governments use for general operations.

The Senate passed the amendment unanimously Monday afternoon with little debate, and the governor already signed it. Both the House and Senate are off until the second week of January.
