The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation has a new section on its website that will list professional licenses issued each month. Susan Hofer, department spokeswoman says it’s in line with the governors push for transparency. “It’s part of both the transparency that the governor has been working on and growing the Illinois economy, creating opportunity for people to get good jobs in Illinois,” Hofer said.

The new section lists when the license was issued, the type of license and what city the newly licensed person lives in. Hofer says every new licensed professional helps their individual communities as well as the state. “Every single person that has a new license in Illinois has the opportunity to help grow their communities and improve their own economic situation,” Hofer said. Many of the 1 million licensed professionals in Illinois are self-employed or work in small professional companies.
