The annual "report card" for public schools in Illinois shows higher graduation rates overall and a higher percentage of low-income students.  The graduation rate at Illinois high schools has risen to 86%, and the dropout rate is at its lowest level in 15 years.

               

State School Superintendent Chris Koch says 51 1/2% of students are considered low-income, and the demographic of the student body is changing.
