It may not feel like the last minute for Christmas preparations, but if you are mailing something to a serviceman or –woman, it’s almost here. The U.S. Postal Service says the deadlines to mail items to an Air Post Office (APO) or Fleet Post office (FPO) address in time for Christmas are Monday (Dec. 10) for Priority Mail, and Dec. 17 for Express Mail.

“If they use Priority Mail, they get a $2 discount for items sent to the military,” says Sue Litterly, the Postal Service’s spokeswoman for Downstate Illinois. “We’ve got all the free packaging there for you in the Postal Service. All you’ve got to do is stop by your local post office.” Litterly says the specific information about the mailing deadlines to military members is available at http://www.usps.com/ .
