The old Colonial Bakery on Landmarks Boulevard returns to the Alton business community, with the city’s first microbrewery. The Old Bakery Beer Company opens today, offering what the owners say will be creative, high quality food and handcrafted beers with organically grown hops and malt.
Alton native James Rogalsky tells The Big Z their building has a lot of history, and he wanted to maintain that atmosphere.

Rogalsky plans to offer six varieties of beer on draft to start with a couple more to be added soon, and a menu comprised of mostly soups salads and sandwiches. The doors open at 11am today, but an official grand opening is planned for sometime in March. Parking is available on site, and at the neighboring family services building.
