As the Illinois Department of Transportation continues to study the so-called Alton-Godfrey Connector, another meeting has been scheduled for next week. You can share your opinions on the project next Wednesday at a meeting at Alton High School. Some local elected officials also plan to be there.
The possibilities to be discussed include upgrading existing roadways, building new ones, or taking no action. Alton Mayor Brant Walker is in favor of seeing the project move forward.

In the past, Godfrey Trustee Mike Stumpf has voiced concern the project is not only unnecessary, but would divert traffic away from local businesses. Wednesday’s meeting (Nov 19) at Alton High School will run from 4-7pm.
